Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup 1 stick butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease well.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugars, salt, and baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until mixed. Fold in any optional add-ins.
  • Scoop batter into muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, fold in nuts, chocolate chips, or any favorite add-in.
