Ingredients
  

  • 1 to 2 pounds ground beef 85–90% lean preferred
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 to 2 cans tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes 14.5 oz each, approximate
  • ½ to 1 cup beef broth or stock
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Chili powder or dried herbs to taste

(Optional) 1 to 2 cups diced vegetables (like bell peppers, carrots, or celery)

(Optional) 1 cup diced potatoes or 1 cup cooked rice

Instructions
 

  • (Optional) Brown the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ground beef until lightly browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Load the Crock Pot: Add ground beef (raw or browned) to the crock pot. Follow with onion, garlic, optional veggies, tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and seasonings.
  • Cook: Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or on High for 3–4 hours.
  • Check and Season: Ensure meat reaches 160°F. Taste and adjust salt, pepper, or any additional seasonings.
  • Serve: Ladle into bowls, or serve over mashed potatoes, pasta, or rice. Garnish as desired.
