Instructions

- Combine Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Flavor: Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in cotton candy flavoring.
- Incorporate Flour and Milk: Alternate adding the dry mixture and milk, blending gently on low speed.
- Color (Optional): Divide batter and add food coloring for pastel hues.
- Bake: Pour batter into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Decorate: Cool layers fully on a wire rack, then frost and decorate as desired.

For best results, keep ingredients at room temperature and avoid overmixing the batter. If you can’t find dedicated cotton candy flavoring, a blend of vanilla and strawberry extracts provides a similar vibe.
